About the Opportunity

DeLaval Pty Ltd has an opportunity for an experienced Service Technician to join their team and provide service and support for clients using the company's milking equipment, robotic systems and related products.

Reporting to the District Manager, this role is primarily responsible for scheduled service work and responding to repair requests related to DeLaval's milking machines. Based in Denmark, Western Australia, this full-time role involves a combination of standard working hours and being part of an on-call roster.

Specifically, the duties of this role include:

  • Professionally conducting regular servicing and maintenance activities;
  • Responding in a timely manner to breakdown call-outs;
  • Achieving set sales targets of preventative and maintenance-related parts; and
  • Accurately managing stock and all administrative requirements.

The successful candidate will have a trade background and an interest in robotics and/or electronics, coupled with work experience in a customer-facing role. As this role involves servicing and troubleshooting highly specialised robotics equipment, you will need a high degree of technical aptitude, and the ability to quickly learn and update your skills as necessary to keep up with the ever-changing technologies in the dairy industry.

On any given day, unscheduled service calls and breakdowns will demand a prompt response, and jobs can often take longer than expected, so you'll need to be able to balance competing priorities and multi-task to ensure all clients receive the same high-quality service they expect from DeLaval.

Your communication skills are integral to your success in this position, as you’ll need to translate technical information about DeLaval’s robotic systems into terms that clients can understand and use. An adaptable personality is essential, as is the ability to use your interpersonal and problem solving skills to respond to unanticipated tasks with efficiency and professionalism.

As a customer service-focused individual, you'll take full advantage of ongoing training, and be eager to incorporate feedback to make improvements in your work and ensure you're providing expert and up-to-date support and service to clients. You'll enjoy working autonomously on a day-to-day basis and also perform well in a team environment.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need a reasonable level of physical fitness and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

A current driver's licence is a requirement for this position, as is an availability to travel domestically within your territory for a portion of the month.
